I Am A Free Bird Poem by Lee Pingjun

I Am A Free Bird

All of you stay in a big golden cage
Discussing how beautiful the cage is
Complaining how bad the food is
Competing how gorgeous the feather you have
And showing how amazing you sing
But me,
Do not have an elegant shed
Always disordered wings
Sometimes,
Cannot find enough food
You ridicule me in your magnificent cage
'You are so poor,
Nothing in your life
And no one be with you'
I look up in the sky
Feel the gentle wind
Smell the sweet scent of flowers
And answer you,
'I am happy
At least than you,
My whole world is not the cage
But nature,
I can see how the sun rises
I can hear how sea dances
I can get help from trees when it rains
I can know other creatures' life
And I can fly, closer to the sky than you.'

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

It is a good piece of poetry with all requisites. Dear Lee, I observe many Chinese poets are not here to proclaim much. But you are a good poet with bright future. All the best.
