I Am A Survivor Poem by Tess Rockenstire

I Am A Survivor

Today I captured my eyes
As I tattered along
This self is warm like a chocolate bun.
I created demons that lurks at night,
Once, in the shadow of my soul
Fear grabbed me upside down,
Like a tipsy turbid down to nothingness.
It hunts like a goliath,
Nearby was a David wrenching to strike.
This two fights and in war inside,
Who could win this battle?
Both are a part of me.
Goliath signals to over through,
While David scream!
He’s only a boy, but wise
It only takes 2 smooth stones
To crush the Goliath that I fear,
He’s secured in my mind,
Yet David clinging for survival
With his two smooth stones,
He strikes and finished the fight,
My soul is free indeed
Broken yet whole, I am a survivor.
