I Am A Tool - Poem by Shannon Greenwald

I am a pencil
Writing gracefully upon the paper
I am a paintbrush
Stroking wistfully upon the canvas
I am a marker
Plodding in great sweeps upon the poster
I am a crayon
Marking within the thick black lines
I am an oil pastel
Smoothly toiling across the vast sheet
I am a pen
Skillfully scrawling atop the dull blue lines
I am a colored pencil
Vividly conquering the expanse of the picture
I am a quill
Nimbly inscribing the parchment
I am a tool
Creatively writing a poem.
