I Am My Own Contradiction Poem by April Nichols

I Am My Own Contradiction

Rating: 5.0

I am my own contradiction
Indecisive as Pisces can be
One foot grounded
The other in the sea
My love burns a smoldering fire
My rage ice cold
Social as a butterfly
Sometimes silent is what I'm told
I change my hair often
Not for trend or style
Simply because I'm indecisive
I like change once in a while
My life depends on logic
While my heart depends on dreams
I am my own contradiction
As ever changing as can be

Flights of fancy in a spiritual sense
My perceptions tend to be true.
While distracted by inner dreams
Still unsure about you
My smoldering fire will protect
Tho you don't know its there
With a loving heart and gentle thrust
I hope you smell me in the air

However your words of cruelty
Causes my blood run cold
With a cold and distant iciness
That makes me want to let go

But love rules my heart
True to the Pisces sign
Thinking in opposition
My nature by design

Yin-yang, unity my one and only goal
Bring me back my balance
Once again make me whole

For I am my own contradiction
Without you, you see
For without you its my curse
For eternity

If you don't hold on
I will swim away
I want to be caught
But need you to want me to stay
For silent words are only in dreams
I need you to speak them
Make it reality
Because tho I can feel you
My nature is no stranger to me
You must accept and understand
That I am a Pisces

Your unspoken words are in my dreams
Your spoken words my reality

Fire and ice
I am my own contradiction
