I Am Not Afraid Poem by Gerald Brilliant Mtetwa

I Am Not Afraid

Come hold me close to your ripe bosom
I want to feel and hear the throbs of your heart and set our our love in motion
Come let's kiss and dance though the world our love can not fathom
I am not afraid to hold your hand and proudly roam

Come let's spread our wings of passion and like eagles glide
No matter what people say let's remain connected and everything will be fine
The thought of living without you scares me like a ferocious tide

Let's beware of wrong people that shed crocodile tears
Yet they come into our very lives pretending to be holy Angels
But the moment we give them our all they kill our trueselves
Our very manifestations, choices, ambitions and desires
