I Am Not Cinderella Poem by Maya Villalunaria

I Am Not Cinderella

I am not Cinderella
and I wouldn't like to be.
I am just a normal girl
whose happy to be me.

I have no fairy godmother,
nor an evil stepmother.
I can't ride a pumpkin carriage,
but I have lots of courage.

I don't believe in magic,
but I do believe in love.
I might not have glass shoes,
but my loyalty will never ever lose.

I can't go into the palace,
or ever I'll be home when midnight strikes.
The bibidi babidi boo won't work in me,
but just say you love me and we'll see.

I am a girl who knows my limit,
a girl who gives her very best.
I am a girl who knows how to dream
and a girl who treat herself a queen.

I may not have the purest heart,
and I may not talk to birds and animals;
but I can give you the love you want,
and shout to the world your name my love.

I am not Cinderella
and I am not even a princess.
I am just a normal girl
whose love for you is bigger than the universe.
