I Am Not Done Poem by Leena Amwaalwa

I Am Not Done

I'm tired of explaining.
I'm tired of demanding.
I'm tired of fighting.
I'm tired of standing up, speaking up.
I'm tired of lifting.
I'm tired of mending.
I'm tired of treading lightly.
I'm tired of being the domino.
I'm tired of being tired, yet I'm not done.
Until I topple over, I shall keep explaining.
I shall keep fighting and demanding.
I shall keep standing up and speaking up.
I shall keep lifting and mending.
I shall keep treading lightly.
I shall keep on being the domino.
I shall keep on keeping on.
For I am the hope of the captive.
The strength of the chained.
I am the hand that mold warriors.
The rock that underprop the fragile.
