One Christmas was so much like another, in those years around the sea-town corner now and out of all sound except the distant speaking of the voices I sometimes hear a moment before sleep, that I can never remember whether it snowed for six days and six nights when I was twelve or whether it snowed for twelve days and twelve nights when I was six.
All the Christmases roll down toward the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky that was our street; and they stop at the rim of the ice-edged fish-freezing waves, and I plunge my hands in the snow and bring out whatever I can find. In goes my hand into that wool-white bell-tongued ball of holidays resting at the rim of the carol-singing sea, and out come Mrs. Prothero and the firemen.
The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
Sometimes I can almost see, around our heads,
Like gnats around a streetlight in summer,
The children we could have,
The glimmer of them.
I saw a little elephant standing in my garden,
I said 'You don't belong in here', he said 'I beg you pardon?',
I said 'This place is England, what are you doing here?',
He said 'Ah, then I must be lost' and then 'Oh dear, oh dear'.
(or Blues for a Mississippi Black Boy)
I was born in Mississippi;
I walked barefooted thru the mud.
The trees along this city street,
Save for the traffic and the trains,
Would make a sound as thin and sweet
As trees in country lanes.
The people along the sand
All turn and look one way.
They turn their back on the land.
They look at the sea all day.
Stand by me my darling, stand by me, and you will see life shine through your eyes, you'll see while traveling by me, as the golden girl I say stand by me on this day, never with you be let away, sit still and listen to my heart that beats strong for you, standing by me standing by you, forever I will I do it to, life for us is brand new, know that the shadows can't reach put heavenly light, every way you woe me is my smitten tasks to always have, your my one and only, your strawberry scent I breath in like a deadly addiction, I will stand by you, can I have the same in return? I can see your smile right in me, your style is just right for me, stand by me as I will you, I will get you in the end, we I knew when? I don't know, years later I hope you still have today, more beautiful than words can say, stand by me my darling and wish to stand by you.
The fact is i was at the shop, hence i saw a certain beautiful girl with a white complexion and for this reason she was having a conversation with a certain boy, by the time when i was standing in the line for this matter.
The fact is when i arrive at home i saw her illusion, hence claiming that she fancy me in a provoking way and for this reason she was standing in the kitchen for this matter.
We were left there, standing by ourselves
Standing after standing there all afternoon
Standing, huddled together at the station yard
We were left on our own, unwanted, unclaimed
I stopped looking up at him standing so tall
Knowledge, the giant tree
The shapeless mighty
None can see,
None can cut
It was quarter past five,
that time of day,
when I went in woods to play.
With the brisk breeze, flew my cape
There's this old guy in my photos…is he someone I should know?
I see him standing in the spot I stand and I have to wonder…where'd I go?
He's usually standing in the back….smiling joyously.

Writing a poem is not about bringing some words together to create some charming sentences. It's so much deeper than that. Writing poetry is a bridge that allows people to express their feelings and make others live every single word they read. Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Writing poetry is to help this community better understand life and live it more passionately.
