I Am Not So Bold Poem by guillermo veloso

I Am Not So Bold

I am not so bold as that
To cross minefields without caution
To cry out my dreams and bare all
To sing alone on the stage
To tell a well worn joke or cozy poem to jaded listeners
To say I love you across an ocean
And hope for a response in a bottle
But oceans have risen and fallen
And winds have come and gone
Still there is time
