I Am Only A Single Voice Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Am Only A Single Voice

Simple and monotonous
A dull confessing fool
Self-indulgent and ridiculous-

My poems are me
They too are simple
Self-indulgent and ridiculous-

And yet I know if I wait long enough
I will at some point today
Stop crying about myself.
