I Am Still Guilty Poem by rameen shahid

I Am Still Guilty

And when you left
i was guilty
because of the reason you had to leave.

You cried and wept and tore yourself apart
over me
but i was guilty
because you refused to tell me.

i thought of you days and nights
but i didn't want you to know
because i was guilty
to have the bad guy conquer my thoughts.

You were the bad guy turning good
only for me
but i was guilty
to tell the world my love is you.

You'd care and love and cheer me
when i was low
but i was guilty
for i was falling for the bad guy.

You'd tell me over and over
you'd do anything for me
but i was guilty
to not believe.

But what you gave me when you left
i can hardly pay you back
for it was
love and only love
for you'd said you'll wait
till the mountains crush
till the sun and moon unite
And Alas! i am still guilty.
