I Am The Man Poem by Rik Bertrand

I Am The Man

I have lived a long and lustrous life here,
I do what most young men would not dare.
I was and still am a soldier of my homeland,
I am the Savior that walks the sand, I am the man.

You are protected by what you do not see,
And that protector is old man me.
I am a warrior from days of ole,
You may sleep at night while I leisurely stroll

I may be old but my experience prevails.
I may be tired but my courage never fails.
I am the lighthouse, and I am the leader of the band,
I am the Savior that walks the sand, I am the man.

I say I, but there are many more,
We are the old, we are the sore.
We provide you the love and peace,
We remind you of your future lease.

My home, Pacific City, Pacific Coast,
It’s the place I care for the most.
Sitting on the beach, loving my land,
I am the Savior that walks the sand, I am the man
