I Am Tired Poem by Rik Bertrand

I Am Tired

I walk as if I am about to collapse in a heap,
My eyes are heavy with what I have seen in life.
I am tired, tired of it all, and I want to sleep,
I want to laydown and close my eyes and dream.

I have done what I can to ensure the future,
I have drained my resourses, my blood.
Life has taken it toll on my soul,
and I must retire myself to internal rest.

Its time; don's ask me how i know,
it is just time for me to let go of the rope.
I have climbed as high as it will take me,
and my hands are burnt from hanging on.

Understand life, understand my accomplishments,
I have survived the wrath and deserve a rest.
So i take it now, I lay down my pen, fold my paper,
I am going to close my eyes, I am Tired, I am going sleep now

REB SEP 2011 (dedicated to me) . and NO i am not dying, I'm just tired.
