I, Aryhm Ra Poem by Joe Fraccalvieri

I, Aryhm Ra

In my mental meandering,
I have been in many mansions of imagination.

I have seen that one of Egyptian origin... The pyramid
Upon yellow pillows filled with only hollow loneliness
Rhamses sleeps...
undisturbed.... timeless
like leaves frozen in ice--
imprisoned

Dolphins of Cyprus splash playfully in summer waters
while white whales of vengeance lie in limbo...
the chrome ghosts of lost love remain
in never-- ending-- restlessness

This slandering memory-- marred by mirage--
mirrored in premonition
has infected my mind-- has reflected through my soul!

A tabernacle of miracles can-- not-- help me

My life has become perforated by fear--
peripheral vision is filled with paranoia

So has my freedom fled me... has led me to this place
where I recognize the now-familiar insignia of the enemy...
They are disciples of time who walk across history,
past and future centuries--
They are the unicorns whose horns have been broken...
They are the winged horses who have lost their wings
and they are the dead who have lost their lives...

The pyramid… A myriad of dimension
de-mention all words wrought in stone rot like the flesh within

You pharaohs have forgotten the bitter sweetness
and quiet solitude of your dreams--
though they unravel around you even now
as you sleep beneath the wind and sand--
and the sun-- and the night and the stars

And the universe will unfold before eyes that can no longer see
but behold! Your ears shall never hear my voice! !

Like a vortex-- it stands alone in this dry-- immense-- emptiness

I dare you to rise, but lie you still--
below your own understanding-- in your ignorance......

I swear… I shall not shed even one tear for you! !

(But yet…. as I spoke) …
A solitary tear
traveled nervously over a severely shriveled cheek
and dropped downward into a broken trickle
which splashed against basement cement

For it is better-- not to dream--
than to dream… Alone
