I Built A Wall Poem by Serena Blackinton

I Built A Wall

Around my heart I built a wall
Infinitely thick and strong
If you have managed to break through at all
You'd be the only one

Around my body I built a tower
Rising up so very tall
None can corrupt its power
Only way down is to fall

And there's a dragon flying high
Above the moat outside
His fire protecting from the sky
Stopping all from entering inside

Before you can slay the beast
You must cross a lake of thorns
So many journeys here have ceased
On those misty, cloudy morns

But, if by some miracle, all obstacles are passed
The only reward is me
None have succeeded thus far
So, here alone I will be.
