I Can'T Be Poem by Saucy Elmo

I Can'T Be

What I can't erase, I'll just rewrite.
I won't forget our past, and alright
I know that its time to go our seperate ways.

What I can't escape, I'll disappear,
Cause its clear I'm not wanted here,
I know it's time we put out the flames.

What I can't unsay, I'll just rephrase.
Cause I know that it's just way too late.
But what kept me holding on to nothing?

What I can't think, I'll just dream.
Of a time when you dreamt of me
Too, and I know, that it wasn't meant to be.

What I can't mend, I'll just replace.
With someone that puts a smile on my face,
And catches the tears before they fall,
Not like you really cared at all!

Be thankful I,
Didn't put your name in this,
But even so,
It's pretty obvious.

I can't pretend,
That I can let this go.
You're a scared little boy,
But you really need to know.

I'm sorry, I let you down.
I'm sorry, that I still have to care.
I hate that we're too broken now.
Somehow I still have tears to spare.
I'm sorry, you let me go.
I'm sorry, that things had to be this way.
You hate how I couldn't let you go.
But I'm doing fine on my own.

I'm sorry,
Sorry for nothing.
You're sorry?
Sorry for everything?
Say nothing,
Cause I'm doing fine on my own.
It's nothing,
I can't be, the one who stays through everything.
