I Dare Not Poem by Rosi Caswell

I Dare Not

I'll never dare to love again,
As I have loved you dear.
The price of pain I've had to live,
Has cost me far and near.
For you are my soul, as I am yours,
And you've wrenched us far apart.
I'll never walk these paths again,
For you live within my heart.
If I should stop to think and feel,
The wound grows ever wide,
And if I could pay the price of love,
You'd still be by my side.
How can we two souls not be one?
For it's very plain to see,
That we belong together yet,
For I am you and you are me.
