I Do Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

I Do

Falling apart to my own tune
Your simple smile cuts deep
His adoring look exasperates
Couldn’t believe I did it again
Forcing myself to bury you
I knew you’d resurface
Stronger than before
Dazzling eyes trap me here
I can’t move for fear of
Falling out of your sight
Howls in the night echo my pain
I’m torn between loving you
And loving you, there is no question
You are what I want
Maybe not what I need
I’m acting on a stage
Playing the greatest role of my life
Wearing a mask that says
I don’t love you
But we both know
I do
