What will you do
when your mother dies?
Could you cry,
would you try?
Where will you go
when you face death?
Turn to God,
only sob?
What will you feel
in that goodbye?
Will you sigh,
bat an eye?
Would you ask why
this life was lost?
Would you scream,
escape in dreams?
What will you be
when she is not?
Full of pain,
or disdain?
Could you lay blame
when given a name
and what could you say
when the murderer and victim
are one in the same?
