I Don'T Want To Be - Poem by latoya trent

I don't want to be
the reason why
we turned out
like this
I want to know
befor you say goodbye
I don't want to be
the reason why
you walked out
on us
I want to know
befor it's to late
to know
I don't want to be
the reason why
our love had
to die
I want to know
befor you have
to lie
I don't want to be
the reason why
I ended up alone
I want to know
befor it has to
be shown
I don't want to be
the reason why
you said it
was through
I want to know
befor i see her
with you
I don't want to be
the reason why
so please tell me
what's going on in
your heart and mind
and I'll tell you
what's going on
in mine
then maybe I won't
be the reason why
we ended up saying goodbye
