I Dried Teardrops Poem by John Sensele

I Dried Teardrops

Don't enter the fray if you ain't ready
To give me your best shot
When evidence portrayed you as pooped out already

Cringing from challenges in moments you felt hot
Courage in droves deserting you
As in lie webs you got caught

Spinning another fib
You thought I'd swallow
Lying to the victoryless victim in the crib

Where for months a profile low
I portrayed despite my nerves frayed
When my light you ensured didn't glow

No matter how much in the dark I felt afraid
Your attitude would lumber me with nothing but deadly dread.
