I Dwell In My Self-Misery, Poem by Trisha Dahn Cochran

I Dwell In My Self-Misery,

I dwell in my self-misery,
My mind is my prison.

My smile is fake,
My laugh, forced.

My once bright blue eyes,
Are now clouded over with grey.

I pity myself,
I trust no one.

An outcast by nature,
A loner by choice.

Why do i chose this life?

It's who I am,
I accept it.

I'll keep hiding behind my mask,
And just accept my fate.
