I Fight My Own Battles Poem by Chloe Coleman

I Fight My Own Battles

where is my hero?
who suppose to slay my dragons?
all I see is Mero
standing by my wagons.

Where is my Knight?
in his shinning armor?
Has he run from fright?
or is he the farmer?

Where is my prince?
with his valiant steed?
All I do is wince,
no one here can read!

Where is my lover?
with his sweet words?
what have I discovered?
they are all nerds.

Where has my heart gone?
has it disappeared?
there is no more dawn.
It is as I feared.

I must fight my own battle
not to cower and hide
not shake and rattle
but to go forth with pride.
