I Gazed Into The Eyes Of Love Poem by Joseph M Donatelli

I Gazed Into The Eyes Of Love

Rating: 5.0

I wrote this poem when I was 16 years old

I gazed into the eyes of love
And knew it held the line above
And outlines all underneath the sun
Love is love not funny fun
Well I touched the glazed crystal sand
And knew that our love would always stand
While the fallacy of their marching feet
Spelled out the ugly word defeat
They buried their golden seed so deep
No possible harvest could they reap

People people everywhere
As crazy as can be
People people everywhere
Deciding things for me
They tell me what is sweet and sour
They tell me by the minute and the hour
The inexperienced speak the most
He who is without must boast
While I tried to say that I'm not dumb
And by that statement they made fun
Oh happy are they who know everything
They stand and smirk but never sing
But of course you know that I'm to young
Though I sing the songs they never sung
