I Had A Dream... Poem by Christine A Kysely

I Had A Dream...

I had a Dream...
that I walked
with my hands in the grasses...
and the Bluebird of Happiness
lived deep inside of me.

The solice of the sun
warmed my face...
and the sound of my children's laughter
filled the space.

And then I was awakened...
To snow on barren ground,
To a gray and icy town,
My children's crying filled my ears...

Hungry. Frozen. Tired.
Too weak to carry on.
Too cold to even speak.
Too tired to even live.

A Nameless Coffin waits for me.

And then I was walking
With my hands in the grasses...

It was no Longer a Dream...

A Nameless Coffin now holds me.
