I Have A Life.- A Letter From An Embryo To The Mother Before Abortion

Within you, i exist, tiny as a petal;
A solitary being, thirsty for love;
I am, to you, unreal;
But if I am to be,
It would be for me, surreal.

You nourish me every single day, dear mother;
Unnecessary it would all be - should you desire it;
You nourish me every single day, dear mother;
But my thirst shall remain tumulous - should you desire it.

Destiny shall happen, mother;
Fate, it shall be deemed, should it happen;
Quashed shall my hope of a life be, dear mother - should you desire it;
The joy of life - I shall never live to live;
Terrible thoughts feed on me
(My mother - my God and trusted soul)
Like a weakening parasite, it burns me;
Pushes me further into the darkness of death.
From the hollow darkness, I cry -
Love me! Feed me! Raise me!
Writhing for breath, I am, in this tiny space;
The breath of being, so wonderful;
The breath of being I so crave;
The breath of being I shall never live to inhale.

Can't fate be made, can't it be a mere word,
Like any other, one that can let me live?

Even now, dear mother,
If I am to cast a shadow,
If I am to live,
With me shall live the parasite
- Forever growing and terrible -
For the reason for my living
- Is it your love or is it your pity?
