I Have Been Shaped By Life But You Have Yet To Be

Rating: 5.0

My identity has been forged for me long ago
I need not spend long hours in search of how
I may stand out from others. No. Quite the opposite,
My life was hammered into shape by the anvil
Of life's disappointments, disasters, and destructions,
Society has molded me into shape through its
Shameless callousness, its coldness and bravado,
Yet I am no exception, many others have had their lives
Cast into the die of the maelstrom by forces
Beyond their control;
Until now, I had not shaped my life but
Was shaped by it; you, on the other hand
Struggle to shape your life
Because it has no form yet,
So, you, in turn, can not appreciate
Life in the depth that I do,
I have already been shaped,
And now I enjoy the fruits of it,
Whereas you are still waiting to be molded.
