I Have Lost My Way - Poem by Shalom Freedman

I have lost my way
I cannot discipline myself
I cannot overcome myself
I do not have the will I once did
I cannot confront my own past work
And do the work involved in redeeming it-
Wastrel coward and fool
Years after years given me
And I cannot bring myself to even try
To save it.
