I Hear The Voices Of Others In Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Hear The Voices Of Others In Me

I HEAR THE VOICES OF OTHERS IN ME

I hear the voices of others in me
It does not mean I have a voice of my own
I feel their lines and their poems their melodies and their harmonies
I feel the beauty of what they say
Each one in his own exceptional way-
I hear the voices of others in me
And wait to hear my own voice
And stumbling fumble these lines and more lines and lines
And I do not know
And only hope
That I am me
And I am real
And I have a voice of my own.
