I Heard His Voice! Poem by Anne Onymous

I heard his voice! Oh!
Its sang to me!
and with the words that came
A sense of calm washed over me
like sparkling, cleansing rain.
I felt the pain melt from my heart
and in its place instead
A sense of purpose
A path laid out
A plan within my head
I do not know if he will take
This lonely, empty shell
As friend or lover, both I hope
But only time will tell
I laugh! He asked what my idea
Of perfect man would be
I wish I'd had the courage to say
You are that man to me.
