I Heard Nothing Across The Silence Of Where I Am Not Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Heard Nothing Across The Silence Of Where I Am Not

I HEARD NOTHING ACROSS THE SILENCE OF WHERE I AM NOT

I heard nothing across the silence of where I am not-
And what that meant
I tried not to understand-
But it was understood clearly enough
By all who knew the business-

Out of nothing one can make nothing-
And what is not now
Is not now forever.
