I hope that you are my last love
Though I do see that you are not forever,
That your heart doesn't belong to me
As mine does belong to you.
I hope that you are my last love
Though it is one-sided,
Though my dreams about us, about you
will never come true.
That's clear.
I hope that you are my last love
Though it is doomed,
Though it is sentenced to death
As well as to life.
It has been sentenced since its birth,
Like a legend that will always revive.
I hope that you are my last love
Though I won't want to love again in future,
Though you will never love me and
I will have to refuse from you and
forget you.
I want you to be my last love...
Because you are my first real love
and my only real love
Though I'm neither your first real love
nor your only real love.

I would like to translate this poem
Saniya, I like this. The speaker's emotions shine through. Maybe change I will have to refuse FROM you to more idiomatic English. Perhaps the poem would improve with some strong and original figures of speech (the Phoenix simile is a little trite.) If you'd like, check out my new website: jeffersoncarterverse.com I'd like to know what you think of it. Yrs, JC
