I Hope Your Happy Poem by Sophie Kennedy

I Hope Your Happy

Your insults slide off me
like water off a tower
thats me
the tall, strong tower
the tower that will never fall
no matter how much you throw at it
only when you left
only when abandonned
will that tower fall

dear brother of mine
who would sit with me
talk with me
love me
I remember growing up
by your side
taking on the world

but now i just watch
from the sidelines
waiting for you to return

All you're into is getting away
away from this house
away from this family
away from me
did i change?
did you change?
did we change?
this person i see in front of me
is not you
he puts up this illusion
and keeps it all inside

i miss you brother of mine
i am waiting for your return
i will bear the pain for now
of your angry words

though you never see it
i cry alone in my room
those insults your throw
sting my face in these tears
i numbly watch you walk out the door
will you return the way you were?
will you stay the way you are?

Either way, I hope your happy
happy to be who you are
this life you chose
those friends you made
these actions you do
I hope you hold no regrets
i hope you don't regret hurting me
i hope you don't regret not caring
i hope you don't regret making me cry
even if i do
