I Just Have To Let Go - Poem by Julia Pascual

We Just Have to Let Go

Nothing in this world is permanent
With just a blink everything can change
That's why in every day we should be ready
'Cause we may never know what will come our way

A very loyal dog can even betray its master
Even if it was fed and given a warm shelter
With that, we can never tell whom we can trust
Even though you've known each other for a while

Even a friend whom you think will never leave
Will find time to put you down and make you cry
And after everything, all you can do is forgive
'Cause he was a part of your life somehow

This is written from the bottom of my heart
'Cause a friend of mine would be leaving tonight
Though it's hard for me to understand
I'll just have to accept everything beforehand

This friend of mine was never ordinary
To me, he was a total, lucky charm
'Cause when I'm with him I feel no harm
He makes me realize that I'm very special

But the time came that we have to part
And the reason, I can never understand
He was like a million miles away from me
And I felt that from my heart, he was very far

It really hurt me, and even made me cry rivers
The scar on my heart will take long to heal
For he was never that easy to stay away from
In fact, he was the one that made me feel I was real

Though it's hard to face the truth, we just have to move on
And believe that for everyone of us, there's still a tomorrow
We just need to, and have to continue on with our living
Though it's never gonna be that easy for us to forget

So when the time a friend of us will heve to depart,
Let's just smile and wave goodbye as they go
Even if it's something that will never be that easy to accept
Sometimes, just sometimes, we have to let go of them
