I Laugh At Myself Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Laugh At Myself

I LAUGH AT MYSELF

I laugh at myself
It helps keep me alive
There is so much difficulty now
And such a strong sense of my own faults and failures
And such loss of hope with old age
If I didn't laugh
I do not know how I could enjoy my life
I laugh at myself
I laugh at much else also
I stay alive through laughter
As I write this now
I am not laughing
But sometime soon
I will laugh again
And be happy I am alive.
