I Lost My Self Poem by Aliyu Danladi



I woke up and tried to find my self
For only my body was there
Like the eyes which had lost sight
Could remain but not see.

How did I lose my self?
As a vapour, while I was asleep?
I would have felt the heat
Emitted during change of state.

But I still think
I lost it as a vapour
For I have searched this wide earth
But could not find it.

I am sorry my body
I should not have asked you
You are nothing
Without a self.
