I Love You Still Poem by Jessica Henning

I Love You Still

Rating: 5.0

dad, iv seemed to have run out of words to explain,
the nights that iv spent screaming with pain...

when you told me to watch for you, your coming back,
and your going to make up for tha love that i lack...

thirteen years ago was the last time we touched,
you held me close saying you loved me so much...

then through plexi glass windows we spoke and we cried,
through the phone they provided while you were being tried...

for drugs and for theft they kept you away,
for years it has been that ive heard you say...

i love you still more than all the stars in the sky,
i love you still baby please do not cry...

i love you still with every bone that iv broke,
i love you still even under the influence of coke...

dad... dont take me wrong weve all made mistakes,
but with every promise everyday my heart brakes...

for thirteen years youve yet to hear my voice,
the truth that i speak the truth in my choice...

i love you still with every inch of my heart,
i love you still i know your falling apart...

i love you still this promise i keep,
i love you still... Now hush.. go to sleep...

I wrote this poem for my dad who is rescently incarserated!
