I’m alive
The sun shining on my face
The wind in my hair
Something weighs down, I’ll have to brace
Myself, But I’ll go on without a care
No one can help me
It’s a burden weighing me down, I’ll set myself free
I’ll take it on alone
It plays my life out for me; I’ll play a different tone
I can’t let it win
I don’t dare give in
I know it can’t take me
I know it won’t break me
Sometimes it’s an effort
And I do just want to give up
It takes me slowly
It will never let up
Everyone helps me every day
But I have to deal with it my own way
I thank them always, they help me get through
There is only one such freedom, it’s true
While it wastes me away
I’ll keep fighting
It will only win once
And I’m so grateful,
That I’m alive
