I'M Here Poem by Casey Gochnour

I'M Here

And although I saw your face,
And although I met your lips,
Yes, you’re beautiful in all ways,
Especially the melody of your voice.

Yet although I hear you now and then,
Even though I just saw you then,
I feel I didn’t.
You weren’t all there, just pieces.

Pieces of what you are, you were,
Falling apart, and I could see,
I saw your pieces, I asked how you’d been,
Didn’t get much, but I kept trying.

I’ll keep asking, I’ll keep wondering,
Because although you remain beautiful,
On the outside shining in,
It doesn’t reflect what’s deep within.

I want to hear your love,
I want to hear your pain.
I want to hear the tears in your voice,
I want to hear you sing.

I want to hear your smile,
I want to hear your laugh.
I want to hear you cling to me,
I want to hear your love.

I want to hear that voice within,
I want to hear your soul.
I want to hear that big sexy brain,
I want to hear you.

I want to hear you, my love.
Because without your mind, your soul,
Who are you?
But fear not,

Because even in times of weakness, I will not falter to stand by your side.
Because even in times of despair, I will not run and hide.
When you need me the least, when you need me the most,
I will be here.
