I'M Poison To You - Poem by Hunter James
And i ache for you, ill say, ignoring poetry and rhyme.
And i ache for you, ill say, amidst darkness, drug dealing and whores.
And i ache for you, ill whisper, feeling a little love confined.
And i ache for you, ill whisper, on the cold hospital floor.
And i need you, ill sigh, on still dawns after jazzed nights.
But i can’t have you, i say, as you look me in the eye.
For im poison to you, i swear, and you wonder back to the light.
And i thought i heard you whisper ” i still love you” but convince otherwise and shiver in the lie of the night.
