I Meet Ladman Poem by Omolola Oladotun David

I Meet Ladman

To end was I to start
A Race I never thought would start
Only to find myself a new star

I wondered and pondered
With the sky so thunderous
Yet with love looming so dangerous

He said; here, take my hands
With fears I retreat back into my sands
A vow to remain I had to take my stance

In fear I whispered, you're not real
Everything I want you are, yet you're not real
Everything feels so real yet a danger I perceive too real

His hands he stretched and smiles
His love he gave with smiles
Everything I wanted in him in smiles

War of words I had to engage
With silence storms aloud in rage
Yet in still waters I dance in gaze

A stranger with love yet doubts
My heart he asked I give without doubts
Yet my tears remained from past clouds
