I Missed All The Fireworks Too
On the top of those steps,
With a snowflake in my hand-
Reaching to Heaven, to place it
Back in the sky,
The shining light of angels
That fell from the cold starry night.
But it’s too heavy,
And my balance is poor-
I wish you were here
To reassure me.
To hold me steady as I stretch,
Would you catch me if I jumped?
My arms, shaking from the weight
Frustrated…
