I Need Love - Poem by Ann Murrell

What the sun is to the flower,
nurturing it to grow,
What rain does for new grass seed,
with its warm persistent flow,
The way the early signs of springtime
awaken dormant plants,
and the seasons first warblers
sing out their rhythmic chants,
So too, poignant feelings stir
like a caged wild dove inside my heart and body, crying out for love.
