To hold the belief,
I need not see Him.
When the veil is rent
and sight returns,
I may not need to know Him—
for knowing can become another veil,
woven of names
the heart has outgrown.
Suspended in the pulsing space
between the Is and the Is Not,
I need not see Him.
Questioning the architecture
of all I cannot see,
I need not prove Him—
proof belongs to
the marketplace of signs;
faith walks beyond
where signs dissolve.
When I am strung, a trembling wire,
between certain Gnosis
and honest Agnosis,
I need not see Him.
For faith unseals
a vastness in the hidden heart—
the heart becoming a cathedral,
vast enough to know in darkness
without seeing;
a sanctuary where the Unseen
is more present than the seen.
And so, in the silence, I know:
I need not see Him.
