I Need You Poem by Talisa Dee Whitmore

I Need You

I wish you were still here for me
You're the only friend I wish to see
I didn't know you that well
But I didn't get the chance
I heard you were in a crash
But I didn't want to believe
Why did it happen, especially on Christmas Eve

I remember you drove to Brookings with me
I thought you were someone I would always see
You were like my older brother
It was us against everyone
Still, you're supposed to be here with me
I cried so hysterically
Because I just couldn't believe

I wish you were still here for me
You're the only friend I wish to see
I think about you all the time
There isn't a day you don't cross my mind
We have many memories together
I wish I would've gone to your funeral
But I wasn't strong enough
It makes me want to cry
Each and every night
