I Need You Poem by Maryan Santana

I Need You

Rating: 4.5

What I did was so stupid
Jumped to conclusions
Without even giving you a chance to explain
Listening to what others were telling me
Thinking ever word that came out of your mouth to be a lie
Not knowing that they were nothing but the truth
Now I’m so lost as to what to do
Walking around day after day in daze
Being told by those same people that
Convinced me that you were lying to me
That I lost such a good thing just because I listened to rumors
I want you bad
I need you bad
If I’d known this was gonna happen I would have never said those things to you
I know it’s just an excuse but
You’ve gotta know how sorry I am
And don’t you remember all those times that you said to me that
I wasn’t like those others girls
I was something special like a rare diamond
That one lucky guy is lucky to have
And once he has her never let her go
Hold her tight don’t let anything come near her
That might damage her
Now I realize how much
I didn’t appreciate you
Though you treated me like I was your world, you’re everything
But I didn’t show you as much gratitude as I should have
And you will never know how much I regret it
Everyday of my life
I know it seems selfish of me to be asking you of this
But I beg you please forgive me
And just give me one more chance to prove to you that I’ve change
I’m not like I used to be
I won’t make those same mistakes again
But it’s your choice whether to believe me or not
Whatever that choice is
As long as you’re in peace with your choice and happy
I’ll learn to live with it
Regretting everyday that goes on by
For not loving you the way I should have
And for realizing it the moment you left me
I guess it really is true that you don’t realize
What you have until it’s gone.
