I Opened My Mouth And Listened Poem by Alla Bozarth

I Opened My Mouth And Listened

Look to the flowers in the sky
and wait for them to bloom—
Soon the sky turns upside down
and spills its flowers on the ground.
Dance between the stars
in your overgrown backyard,
the place where the wild ferns are
and the purple cosmos grow.
Dance in your beloved’s arms.
Each of you is the star
in the other’s heart forever,
and forever nourished by light
that enters the soul and mind
at the thought of you and you.
Never mind the space of time
between you, nor the distance of space.
Under the waves of a great design,
you are together.
Always, always
together.
Wonderful.
