I Promise, I Promise Poem by Jared Bradford

I Promise, I Promise

I promise, I promise
My soul intentions are good
But I'm getting the feeling
I'm being misunderstood

I wear my heart on my sleeve
Like its the new fashion
Rhyme is more than words
They're a passion

Most times, I'm left to wonder
Like the 'Wonder' bread
'Maybe I'm doing the wrong thing..'
'You're my inspiration, ' she said

I'm no inspiration
I am no reward
My words are talk, it's cheap
And it's all I can afford

I'm no inspiration
I'll leave that to Lance
Defeated 3 kinds of cancer
Then won 'Le Tour de France'

I promise, I promise
I can never be that
Never say can't
So i can never be that

'But you're different, you are'
'You don't see that far,
That or you're blind'
Maybe I'm just losing my mind

Mind wishes I can 9 lives
8 would be in the clouds
But I'll have to keep one
And just say, 'I'm proud'

'I searched, I found them'
'What? My words? My talk? '
Well heres another one
No glory, just a gun

I promise, I promise
I live for frustration
Keep giving me my doubt
So I have my inspiration
