It seems like forever ago
those days
where you were still here

Sometimes I dream of you
And when I wake
I make the mistake
Of believing them to be
True.

But then I sit there
And I remember
Our last days together
How I sat there
And promised to love you
Forever.

I remember how you smiled at me
Like we had all the time in the world
But then i skip over those moments
And remember

How I held your hand
And watched you take your last breath
I remember how your hand went limp
And how your eyes lost their gleam
How I kissed your head
and had to leave

So I sit there
And remember
That you are no longer here
And how you left me
That year
