I Remember That Day Poem by Justin Evett

I Remember That Day

I remember the day that you left and said it was over.
The never ending silence,
the feeling of being powerless watching you walk away.
It hurt to go on, to be without you.
The drowning feeling of emptiness and the dark hole you left.
I remember the day that i saw you in his arms,
but couldn't do anything.
The void that's left seems to always be there,
no matter how hard i try to fill it.
I remember that day, that feeling,
but now watching you in his arms,
I realize that the hole you left slowly feels
less like a hole.
I know I'll remember this day,
when that emptiness, felt less like a hole,
and more like a crater.
